Mt. Stanhope Estate, located in the parish of St. Marks overlooking the town of Victoria. The estate is approximately 3.5 miles east of Victoria. Mt. Stanhope is 1600 ft above sea level and has a number of beautiful plateaus that merge with the mountainous landscape and valleys below.

After entering the town of Victoria, the estate can be reached by turning onto to the Mt. Stanhope road. It is a very easy drive for the first 2.5 miles; however, the last mile is engineered for the Land Rover Discovery, which goes into action making its way up a narrow mountain road. For the serious nature lovers the last mile can be a hike, which allows one to really appreciate the unfolding beauty. It is as if nature is just putting on a grand display dotted with exotic tropical blooms, spices, palms, and aphrodisiac plants. If you are lucky you may spot a monkey or two on your way up and you will definitely stop and take a photo of the Mt. Stanhope Rock waterfall that suddenly appears on the side of the mountain. Your camera is required equipment on this adventure.

At base camp – Stanhope ground zero – we take a five or ten minute break and prepare to begin a great day of exploration. From base camp the panoramic view of the town of Victoria, Caribbean Sea and surrounding areas can be enjoyed; there is also the opportunity to inspect the ruins of the plantation great house before departing on your magnificent adventure. Base camp is fully equipped with first aid kits and other safety equipment which will hopefully never have to be put into use – safety first always. Please observe all safety rules set out by your tour guide.
