Island Tour W/ Hiking

We first stop in the historic town of Gouyave the site of the ever popular Fish Friday Food Festival, and the most vibrant town on the island.  Here we will explore the only surviving Nutmeg Processing Plant on the island.  We Then move onto the town of Victoria and head onto Mt Stanhope Estate.  We take a trail on the north western end of the estate that takes you through the nutmeg fields down a steep slope where you can jungle surf if you like onto a cultivated plateau or engage in the Spice Experience. Here you can take in the view, fill up on some spring water while browsing the cultivation before trekking on down to the top of the Mt. Stanhope Rock Waterfall.  After resting and frolicking we trek back to base camp via a much easier trail.  At base camp one can take in the spectacular view or you can leave your legacy. The tour then stops for lunch at Bathway Beach, the most popular beach within the Grenadian population.  The Food stalls serve fish and chips and a variety of barbeque meats.  The beach features a natural pond protected by the Barrier Reef.  The next stop is Lake Antoine, the second largest freshwater lake on the island, located on River Antoine Estate the home of the famous River Antoine Rum (Rivers Rums). Grenville, the second largest town (a bustling hive of activity) and the bread basket of the island is the next stop.  This town is followed by the Grand Etang  National RainForest, where you can see the largest freshwater lake formed in an inactive volcano crater about 1,600 years.  We then drive through the rain forest back to the hotels.
